Französische Gendarmerie spart durch Umstellung auf Open Source Software [6]

Durch die Nutzung von Open Source Software (OSS) für die Desktop-Oberfläche hat die französische Gendarmerie ihre gesamten IT-Managementkosten um 40 % reduziert. Davon entfallen 2 Millionen Euro jährlich auf Lizenzkosten. Die reduzierten Lizenzkosten seien nur der geringste Teil der Kosteneinsparungen, so Bürgermeister Stéphane Dumond. Viel wichtiger sei, dass die Anzahl der nötigen örtlichen Wartungseingriffe stark reduziert werden konnte. Read More... [6]
